Our Environmental Focus
CL&P along with its parent company, Northeast Utilities, is committed to protecting the environment, and our employees are expected to understand and comply with our environmental policies:

Protecting the Environment: CL&P participates in a number of innovative environmental initiatives including managing more than 7,000 acres of land in Connecticut, maintaining more than 1,500 miles of transmission rights-of-way, and participates in company-sponsored recycling collections.
NU's Environmental Management System (EMS) is a key operational component of the company. It is set of processes and practices that allow NU to identify and address environmental impacts resulting from its services and operations.
