Raymond P. Necci
Raymond P. Necci is the president and chief operating officer for two of Northeast Utilties’ (NU) operating companies: The Connecticut Light and Power Company (CL&P) and Yankee Gas Services Company (Yankee Gas). CL&P and Yankee Gas are Connecticut’s largest electric and natural gas utilities. He has responsibility for all operations and for ensuring that customers receive safe, dependable and reasonably priced energy.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Necci joined Northeast Utilities (NU) in 1976 in the Generation Engineering department. He held several leadership positions in the NU nuclear organization, becoming the vice president of Nuclear Oversight and Regulatory Affairs in 1998, and vice president of Nuclear Technical Services in 2000. In 2001 he became the vice president of Operations for Dominion Nuclear Connecticut until rejoining NU in January 2002 as vice president – Utility Group Services.
Necci earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the State University of New York Maritime College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Connecticut.
Necci is a member of the boards of directors of the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company, Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and the Northeast Gas Association. He is also a board member and on the campaign cabinet of the United Way of the Capital Area. Necci is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He resides with his wife Mary in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
