CL&P is excited to see growing interest in electric vehicles (EVs) statewide. We applaud today’s business and community leaders who are taking early steps to support EVs.
CL&P has completed the donation of charging stations to the volunteering host sites for the EV research project. More than 30 public charging stations have been installed as part of this project, in addition to other stations across Connecticut. CL&P is in the process of collecting and analyzing meter data to study charging usage and system needs.
Our company’s goal is to safely and reliably serve all electric customers, and we are researching ways to provide a clean, lower-cost transportation fuel alternative to “early adopters” of plug-in EVs. EVs have important environmental and economic benefits for Connecticut, and our job is ensuring the electric distribution system is ready.
