CL&P, Yankee Gas Services, and NU's Transmission Group are dedicated to the vitality of the communities we serve. In 2006, we conducted a review of our corporate giving strategy to insure that our investments are making a positive difference. As a result of this review, we have identified new priority areas. We will be partnering with local organizations primarily engaged in three areas of focus:

economic and community development
environmental leadership and stewardship
workforce development and education

Our parent company, Northeast Utilities, supports larger, regional projects through the Northeast Utilities Foundation.

As a company with operations throughout Connecticut, we think it is also important to support health & human service and arts & culture organizations. We do this through our United Way corporate contributions and employee giving programs, as well as our partnership with the Greater Hartford Arts Council.

Finally, we support our employees as they donate their time and talents to a wide variety of organizations, from volunteer fire departments to local PTAs to chambers of commerce.
