Interest-Free Loans for Municipal and Small Business Customers

This program is one of several innovative solutions offered by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and administered by CL&P.

Financing Opportunity for Electric Energy-Efficiency Projects

With support from the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, incentives are available to help reduce the cost of installing energy-efficient equipment; however they do not cover the entire cost. For qualifying municipal and small business accounts, the project costs not covered by the incentives can be financed through the Municipal and Small Business Loan program.

Who’s Eligible?

• CL&P small industrial and commercial businesses who are participating in the Small Business Energy Advantage program are eligible.
• Any municipality in CL&P’s service territory.
• All customers must be in good credit standing.
• Loans are not available for customers or projects that qualify for CL&P’s Energy Conscious Blueprint program.

How Does the Loan Program Work?

• This is an interest-free loan offered to CL&P customers who implement energy-saving measures through a qualifying CL&P incentive program funded by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund.
• The loan must be used for the upgrading or replacement of existing electrical equipment with high-efficiency electrical equipment.
• $500 minimum loan to $100,000 maximum loan.
• Financing for the Municipal & Small Business Loan has a maximum loan term of 36 months.
