BE A STAR! An ENERGY STAR®!
Did you know that compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs) use 50-70 percent less energy than incandescent bulbs – yet they give off the same amount of light?
Replacing the lights around your home with energy-efficient bulbs is a great, cost-effective way to reduce home energy consumption. ENERGY STAR-labeled light fixtures are designed to save energy and lower your monthly electric bills, without sacrificing comfort and quality. Click here

ENERGY STAR-qualified light fixtures will help you save money on your energy bills and help you play a role in pollution prevention. When you use less electricity, you reduce the need to build more power plants. With fewer power plants, there are fewer pollutants being emitted into our air. Not only does energy-efficient lighting provide the same amount of light output as standard fixtures, they operate at lower temperatures, so the risk of fire is lower too.
How do you find these and other energy-efficient products? Just look for the ENERGY STAR! To earn an ENERGY STAR, a product must meet strict energy-efficiency standards. ENERGY STAR is a joint program between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, created to promote the purchase of energy-efficient products and the practice of energy-saving habits.
ENERGY STAR Appliances
In addition to lighting, ENERGY STAR-qualified appliances can also help you save money on your energy bills by reducing your energy consumption. Appliances that have ENERGY STAR-qualified models include: clothes washers, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, refrigerators/freezers and room air conditioners.
