When you’re moving, you don’t need any further hassles. So we’ve made it simple for you to start up, discontinue, or transfer electric service with us. Just click on our Moving Wizard to get started.

Letter of Credit
If you do business with another electric company, they may ask for a letter of credit from us. We make it easy for you to request one with our Letter of Credit Request Form. (PDF) 

Power Transfer Program for Landlords
Many landlords prefer to keep service turned on in their apartments between tenants. CL&P’s Power Transfer Program will save you time and trouble by keeping the power on when your tenants notify CL&P they are vacating your rental property. We will obtain a meter reading and keep the power connected, billing you directly for service used during the time between tenants.

To sign up, complete the application(PDF) and return it to us by mail or fax.

When your new tenants are ready to move in, just ask them to use our Moving Wizard or call us a couple of days in advance to have the service transferred into their name.

If you choose not to participate in the Power Transfer program, CL&P will disconnect the service between tenants.
