Assistance Programs

We care about our customers. And we recognize that some of our customers face special challenges, such as very limited incomes, language barriers or physical disabilities.

CL&P offers special payment arrangements, shut-off protection, weatherization, informative newsletters and energy workshops and help to access financial assistance programs and services. These programs and services are designed to help customers maintain access to electric service, conserve energy, and pay their bills.

CL&P partners with the Connecticut Association of Human Services (CAHS) to produce the Programs That Help People Booklet  (PDF). The booklet provides an overview of federal, state and local programs that provide assistance to Connecticut residents.

CL&P promotes the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program by providing customers with information on income eligibility and where to apply. Energy assistance is available to help qualified customers pay for energy. CL&P assists customers access available energy assistance through CEAP and Operation Fuel.
