Today, 59 percent of CL&P customers rely on CL&P to purchase power for them. We scour supply markets to procure the lowest-price power and buy it through competitive solicitations in the New England wholesale power market. These costs are passed through to customers without any markup.

Other customers have chosen a supplier by shopping for electricity based on environmental priorities, special services, or the lowest price.

All customers continue to rely on CL&P to deliver their power, wherever they buy it. We are dedicated to keeping the costs we do control, transmission and distribution, as low as possible. Moreover, as Connecticut's demand for electric power continues to grow, we're investing in our energy future by strengthening the regional transmission system
